TRAMA

Abby Arcane, una ricercatrice del centro di controllo e prevenzione delle malattie infettive, torna nella sua città natale, Houma, in Louisiana, per studiare uno strano virus mortale che pare provenire dalla palude limitrofa. Durante queste ricerche incontra Alec Holland, scienziato a sua volta, e si innamora. Alec però muore in un tragico incidente come molte altre persone in città. Approfondendo le ricerche, mentre il male sembra essersi impossessato di Houma, scopre però che la palude nasconde terrificanti ed al tempo stesso miracolosi misteri, e che forse il suo amato Alec non è davvero morto.
